The new groups Organiser (a member of the NWR Committee) will give any help required and send you a "starter pack". Members of the Committee are usually available to attend the first or other meetings to discuss NWR and answer any questions.
When to meet
Most groups meet one evening every month. This gives members plenty of time to prepare for the meetings. However you can meet as often as you like depending on what the members want to do.
Where to meet
NWR groups usually meet in members homes on a rotating basis.
Choosing your topics
Find out what your members would be interested in discussing and how and where you could find the information. Also consider having a guest speaker for some of your meetings. Plan about three or four meetings so that you are not left sitting at a meeting with nothing to talk about. Your topics can range from the sublime to the ridiculous. It really all depends on what your members want to discuss. The topics can be serious and controversial or light-hearted and funny. A list of suggested topics for discussion is included in the Starter Pack.
Local Organiser
The role of Local Organiser (LO) is to co-ordinate the group's activities, including distribution of programmes, letting everybody know where the next meeting will be, and corresponding with the NWR Committee. The job is usually held by one person for a year but can be changed as often as every three or six months.
